On the way: Out in the wilds again

Back up in Cumbria with my dad again. Good drive up with only one small delay resulting from someones rear end shunt.

My dad seems a bit more with it although is still having trouble reading print so I'll arrange for a visit to the optician.

Being out in the wilds means that the internet connection is intermittent - well that was all written on the 26th and it was so intermittent that it dropped out and I didn't get it back in the house at all, only sitting out in the car, so this is a multi-day catch up.

Visited the GP to check out a few things. Unfortunately it's upstairs although he manages to climb them OK. He's going to have a different analgaesic to see if it will help pain management overnight. It's clear that mobility is going to be an issue. I think there are going to be some difficult decisions to be made in the coming months.

Managed to arrange an appointment with the optician. More stairs to climb to the consulting room! No change to the prescription. Just need to make sure that RHF is holding anything he reads at about 40 cm. Went shopping to stock him up for the week and by that time it was quite late so decided to stay another night. Good job I'd packed spare underwear!

Good day to go back, bright sunshine all the way back down M6/M1 although the volume of traffic was a lot higher than I'd anticipated for a Sunday and it was very slow, taking over an hour longer than normal.
